Public Hearing Scheduled – November 25, 2024, at 7p.m., Okotoks Council Chamber

November 12, 2024

A public hearing for the Ridgemont Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) and Phase 1 Land Use Amendment, has been scheduled for November 25, 2024, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Town of Okotoks Council Chamber, located at 5 Elizabeth Street.

The Ridgemont NASP (Bylaw 32-24) and Phase 1 Land Use Amendment (Bylaw 33-24) received first reading from Council on October 28, 2024. The public hearing is the next step in the approval process.

The project team welcomes residents to attend the public hearing to listen and/or to provide your input. If you are unable to attend in person or online, the Town will also accept feedback by letter or email in advance of the public hearing.

First Reading of the Ridgemont NASP and Phase 1 Land Use Amendment on Oct. 28, 2024

An updated draft of the NASP was submitted to the Town in June 2024, and after a final round of updates, a final version was resubmitted in October 2024. A copy of the final draft NASP is available on the Resources page.

The Ridgemont NASP and Phase 1 Land Use Amendment have been scheduled for First Reading at the Town of Okotoks Council Meeting on October 28, 2024.

A public hearing, where members of the public will have the opportunity to speak in support or opposition of the application will be scheduled, following the first reading. A date for the public hearing is to be determined.

What We Heard Report – June 2024

The Ridgemont team has compiled a ‘What We Heard Report’, informed by attendees at the Open House on June 5, 2024, and by online respondents. The report captures verbatim comments, response metrics and key themes from the feedback received. Read the latest report found here.

Ridgemont Phase 1 Land Use Amendment

June 20, 2024

A land use amendment application for the first phase of Ridgemont was submitted to the Town of Okotoks on June 20, 2024. The Town of Okotoks administration will complete a review, and the application will be circulated. It is anticipated that the public hearing and Council approvals process will be completed for both the NASP and Phase 1 Land Use Amendment application in tandem. A map of the proposed land uses for the plan area can be found in the June 2024 Open House Boards here.

Ridgemont NASP resubmitted to the Town of Okotoks

June 13, 2024

An updated draft of the Ridgemont Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) was submitted to the Town of Okotoks on June 13, 2024. The Town of Okotoks administration will complete a final review, and then the application will proceed through the Council approvals process. Specific Council dates have not yet been identified, but a public hearing is anticipated to occur in summer or fall 2024.

NASP Submission

January 25, 2023

The Ridgemont Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) has been submitted to the Town of Okotoks. The Town will complete a technical review, circulate the draft plan to internal departments, external stakeholders, and formally notify adjacent landowners of the submission. The draft NASP is available for review here. A second engagement event sharing updates to the NASP based on feedback received will be held in the spring.
